A CAD system can be seen as built up from the interaction of a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphical_user_interface" title="Graphical user interface">graphical user interface</a> (GUI) with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NURBS" title="NURBS" class="mw-redirect">NURBS</a> geometry and/or <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boundary_representation" title="Boundary representation">boundary representation</a> (B-rep) data via a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geometric_modeling_kernel" title="Geometric modeling kernel">geometric modeling kernel</a>. A geometry constraint engine may also be employed to manage the associative relationships between geometry, such as wireframe geometry in a sketch or components in an assembly.</p>

<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px;">The second graduating class from Seneca’s Documentary and Filmmaking Institute (DFI) held a screening of their short documentaries at the Rivoli on Wednesday, September 1. Thirteen films were shown to a packed house which included guest of honour August Murphy-King, son of the late legendary documentary filmmaker Alan King. August was on hand to help award the Alan King Memorial Prize to the best short documentary which was awarded to Kathryn Threlkeld for her documentary &#8220;Burning Blossom&#8221; about her personal struggle with mental illness. An honourable mention went to Michelle Whiting for her documentary on the recent G20 protests, &#8220;I was here.&#8221;</p>

She told them that she was an immigrant to Canada and that the great thing about Toronto is that you don&#8217;t have to hide your background or culture because it is this diversity that makes the city so unique.</p>

In recognition of her accomplishments and contributions, Seneca presented her with an honorary Bachelor of Applied Studies degree at <strong style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; font-style: normal; font-weight: bold;">Seneca College’s convocation on Thursday, June 24 at Seneca’s Newnham Campus, 1750 Finch Avenue East, Toronto</strong>.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px;">“Frances has devoted her life to helping others and improving our communities,” said Seneca College President David Agnew. “We are proud to have had her as a member of Seneca’s Board of Governors and to honour her commitment to education and the creation of opportunities for the next generation.”</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px;">Frances is currently completing her last year as President and Chief Executive Office of the United Way of Greater Toronto, a position she has held since 2001. Under her leadership, the United Way has increased donations substantially and has become a major contributor to public policy discussions around strengthening neighbourhoods, affordable housing and reducing poverty. Prior to this post, she was a member of the Ontario Legislature, where she held several Cabinet portfolios in the 1990-95 Bob Rae government.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px;">She has been a committed volunteer in the education and non-profit sectors, including a role as Director of Seneca College’s Board of Governors from 2004 until 2007.</p>
<p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px;">Frances has received many recognitions and honours throughout her career, including the CEO Award of Excellence in Public Relations from the Canadian Public Relations Society in 2008, and an appointment to the Queen’s Privy Council of Canada in 2009.</p>
